To celebrate the centenary of the birth of Maxwell Lemuel “Max” Roach (Newland, 10.01.1924 – New York, 16.08.2007), an emblematic figure in jazz history and a pioneer of modern drumming, Antonio Fusco presents a new multimedia production.

This project pays tribute to Roach not only as an extraordinary musician and composer but also as a powerful voice against racial discrimination. From the 1960s onwards, Roach transformed his art into a tool for protest and a struggle for the rights of the African American community.

Led by Antonio Fusco on drums, the quartet features double bassist Carlo Bavetta, trumpeter Alberto Mandarini, and pianist Antonio Zambrini (both professors at the Milan Conservatory).
