FABIO VERNIZZI

After graduating in piano under the guidance of Vera Favaloro and Ermindo Polidori, he continued his studies with Lidia Arcuri and Massimiliano Damerini.

Following the release of his debut solo album Maya (Splasc(h) Records), he received several nominations as “Best Emerging Italian Talent” in the national Top Jazz poll. This recognition launched an international concert career that has taken him to cities such as Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Athens, Paris, Brussels, Dakar, and Moscow. Performing with his own ensembles (Maya Quartet, Dudà, Vernizzi Trio) or as a soloist, he has been invited to present his music at major festivals and venues both in Italy and abroad, including renowned locations such as New Morning (Paris), Blue Note (Milan), European Poetry Festival (Tokyo 2005), Voix Vives (Sète 2010), European Voices (Vienna 2008), A Poetic-Musical Bridge (Rio de Janeiro 2006), and Liguria in Brussels (2005).

Thanks to his versatility, he has been invited to collaborate with artists across diverse musical genres, from contemporary classical music to jazz and folk traditions.

He also collaborates regularly with the Teatro Stabile di Genova as a musician, arranger, or composer in various productions, including The Cripple of Inishmaan (2000), Billie de Kid (2007), and Mama Afrika (2010).
